Madame Tussauds in Bangkok
Posted by Sukhumwit Steve on September 23rd, 2011 filed in SightseeingThe Bangkok arm of the world renowned Madame Tussauds Waxworks Museum is a relatively recent addition to the Thai capital’s abundant visitor draws. The museum is on the sixth floor of the Siam Discovery Centre, on Siam Square, and has evolved into a must visit Bangkok destination since its opening late last year.
As with the main London-based Madame Tussauds and other world outlets, the Bangkok venue offers a broad spectrum of lifelike figures from the worlds of sports, contemporary society and history. The Bangkok branch features some local icons, such as famed Muay Thai kick boxer Khaosai Galaxy and iconic Thai film star Mitr Chaibancha, as well as global icons and luminaries.
The Bangkok Madame Tussauds gives visitors the opportunity of having their photograph taken with Michael Jackson, Jackie Chan, George Clooney and Kate Winslet, to name just some of the stars immortalised here.
Madame Tussauds is open from 10:00 to 21:00 every day. Tickets are available at the ticket counter. Discounts of 10 per cent can be garnered by pre-booking online. The nearest BTS Skytrain station is Siam and it is linked by pedestrian overpasses to the Siam Discovery Centre. Madame Tussauds in Bangkok can be found at www.madametussauds.com/bangkok.
