Central World Winter Beer Gardens

Each winter the square in front of Central World Plaza transforms into a brilliant beer garden, which each of the major Thai beer labels, as well as some international brands opening their own beer gardens to the public. These gardens open each evening and are a very popular way for Bangkokians to spend an evening with friends.

Upon entering one of these gardens you’ll be shown to a table and offered both a beer and snack menu. One of the best options is to come with a group of friends and order a beer tower to share between you. Most places offer excellent hot and cold snacks to keep you well-fed while you sit back and enjoy the music from the live band which play a variety of Thai and foreign songs.

These beer gardens are particularly popular, so it’s a good idea to get there early to make sure you get a table. However, that said, the beer gardens are very leisurely, and staff won’t harass you to order more or leave quickly.

One thing to note is that on special occasions the beer gardens will charge a fee to enter on top of the regular charges for drinks and food. These times include New Year’s Eve. The Central World Beer Garden’s are open for only one or two months during the winter season, so if you’re lucky enough to be in Bangkok during this time, make sure you get on down to Central World for a refreshing drink and snacks with friends.
