The Third Floor Blood Group Food
Posted by Sukhumwit Steve on October 15th, 2010 filed in Dining and winingOne of the most unusual yet trendiest food crazes to hit Bangkok is the concept of eating food based on your blood group. The concept of matching foods with blood groups started in Japan, and has now hit Bangkok with the city’s first blood group restaurant – The Third Floor – opening on Wireless Road. Third Floor offers an excellent menu featuring fresh produce with interesting flavour combinations. The menu is categorised into blood groups, with the idea that diners order based on their blood groups. For example, type A blood group should try the chicken, whilst type B might enjoy the beef.
Whilst the idea of a restaurant serving food based on blood groups may conjure up images of health food without taste and anything slightly enjoyable, rest assured Third Floor is anything but this. The menu features a sumptuous range of salads, soups and hot dishes. There is a distinctly western feel to the menu, but quality Thai dishes are also offered. There is also an excellent range of Thai and Western desserts which are all freshly baked and prepared by the chefs at Third Floor. The baked puddings come highly recommended, as do the Thai style desserts which are particularly refreshing on a hot day.
The ambience is stylish but casual. Waiters offer attentive and very polite service and can assist you in making good choices from the menu. The menu is in Thai and English, and explanations of all dishes are available. This is a great place to enjoy a casual lunch with friends, or perhaps if you’re feeling like giving your body a break from heavy fried foods, this is an excellent place to detox with some of the freshest, healthiest, and tastiest food in Bangkok.
